Update - 8/29/2011

We're in full swing with writing. We currently have 4 songs completed for the new album. Below is a picture from the latest writing session. There will be more details surfacing in the coming months. Maybe even another demo teaser put up. Until then, thank you for the continued support.

Oakhelm Shows - Complete

We're back home now from the 3 shows with Oakhelm. We had an amazing time and I'm sure you people that got to catch Oakhelm really enjoyed them. We wish them the best of luck and their new album "Echtra" is amazing. You can pick that up at the link below.

In other news, we continue writing at the end of this month for what will be our 5th album. Excited, to say the least. The new material is already different than Vultures. More abrasive and honestly, just punishing. We're excited to have new blood writing the album as well, so we feel it could possibly be our best outing to date.

Stay tuned for some writing updates which will lead into studio updates once we start tracking. Until then, we will see you around.

Also, remember to go see our friends in Early Graves make their triumphant come back at Power Of The Riff in Los Angeles and San Francisco.

End of the year, in August.

These show with Oakhelm will most likely be our last shows of the year. We will be writing a new album, which we already have 3 songs done for. We're excited that Chris from Early Graves will be writing the album with our guitarist Justin Garcia who has already been on two of our albums, both "Wounds" and "Vultures At Dawn." We're extremely excited to have both of them working on this new album and we feel it's going to be some of our best work, as every band always thinks. Anyway, go and check out these shows and I'm sure you'll hear from us soon.

Also, Europe, we are definitely trying to make plans to be over there early next year. We're hoping this time it's going to happen, but who knows. Money is tight always and we're going to give it our best shot to get over there.

In the meantime, please pick up some merch, a discounted cd, or a piece of vinyl from our webshop.

New shows with Oakhelm

We'll be doing a few shows with Oakhelm. If you haven't heard them, do yourself a favor and get on it. Here's the routing.

Those will be the last shows of the year, most likely, for us. We'll continue to write our new album which seems to be taking shape very well. We won't be very active as the year comes to a close, but please do expect a tour at the beginning of next year as well in support of our new album. Keep checking back as there will be some video updates on the album as we come closer to finishing it.

Since buying records is a thing of the past, we must move forward with making new shirt designs always. So these are some that we had on tour. Enjoy.

Tour / Over

We have officially finished the month long trek with The Secret. Great times were had all across the country. Cheers to The Secret for coming over and playing great night in and night out.

On to other news, we are writing songs and are looking at doing something during the summer. Not sure of the exact month, but we'll be figuring this out in the coming weeks. We will of course be doing some local Los Angeles shows.

Also, we will have plenty of tour merch up on the shop in the next week, as well as Indie Merch will have a couple designs. So please check back for all of these new items that will be available.

Practice / New Songs

We had a great weekend of practicing and writing over the weekend. We've started to create the new record, which we're all excited for. Throughout the year there will be plenty of updates regarding the new album as we'll be working on it in between tours. The reason being, it's just easier to upload everything. So, when we post pictures from tour, recording etc. it'll all be there. You can check out pictures from the weekends practice there now.

SXSW New England Metalfest Show

We have a free show coming up on March 4th at Vacation Vinyl in Los Angeles with Deafheaven. There will be a limited amount of silk screened posters that are free.

Update 2/1/2011

I hope all of you are doing well. We have just a little bit of news, nothing major, at all. But this is what's going on.

- We have made a bandcamp. It's in shambles right now, but music is up. So check it out if you'd like. We will have a webshop and all of our releases on their for purchase, later rather than sooner. - thefuneralpyre.bandcamp.com

- It looks like we'll be out in the summer on tour. We're not sure what exactly, but since we hate our lives at home (most of us, anyway) we'll be taking off again.

- We're going to start working on a new record with absolutely zero time frame in mind of when it will actually be finished. With the new addition of a guitar player, we're excited to start this.

- Tour starts in a little over a month. Be sure you, that if you want to order merch, you do so before we take off on March 10th. That will probably be the last day.

Tour in March/April
